Your first thought when applying for a course abroad is probably the expense involved. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could secure a scholarship that covered all the expenses associated with studying abroad? In many cases, the amount offered through scholarships or grants determines if you’ll accept the admission offer. Several scholarships are offered by different universities, organisations, and governments to support international students. Of these, full scholarships are the most appealing choice for many.

What is a full scholarship?

In the context of studying abroad, a full scholarship is a form of financial aid that covers all expenses related to your education. This covers your tuition fee, lab fees, books, and, in some cases, travel and living expenses. It ideally means that you will not have to spend any money on your education, out of your own pocket. These scholarships are also called full-ride scholarships. They are highly competitive scholarships. You must have an exceptional academic record and meet other specific eligibility requirements to land one. Remember that a full tuition scholarship differs in that it covers only the tuition fees.

Are 100% scholarships offered to international students?

A question that many students aspiring to study abroad ask is – ‘will any scholarship cover 100% of the expenses of studying abroad?’ The accurate answer to this question is ‘yes’, it is indeed possible. Several of these fully funded scholarships are available to international students too. There are scholarships that offer a living stipend allowance and an air travel allowance, apart from covering the tuition fees.
